In our hotel room it is so big we even have a living room and bunk beds

There is a 8hour time difference between San Francisco and London.When we get there we would have flown for ten hours

Did you know that this place is home to black and brown bears 🐻 it was quiite scary walking back from the restaurant we even have to put our food in a locker so the bears don’t smell it

I went looking for flowers that had fallen from the plants (we didn’t want to ruin any wildlife in Fiji).

We had a basket weaving lesson and a man taught us how to make baskets.

Mummy made us do some school work this morning. I learnt about how how the Romans invaded Britain. I liked learning about Bodica as she was a woman who was good at fighting.

I learnt that it was very difficult to get into a hammock- net is a lot more difficult than just a fabric one.

We went to the rock pools and found thousands and thousands of baby octopuses (they had very spiky tails - like something from a nightmare).

In Fiji there are very nice sunsets. The sun sets over the sea and makes it look golden.

We also found a piece of coral that had not \240lost all of its colour washed up on the shore in the wreck line. A wreck line is where the bits of coral, seaweed and shells get washed up to at high tide. \240

There was a very kind man who let me ride on his horse. We went along the waters edge and sometimes even in the water.

This is a ‘chair in the air’. Fiji is very relaxed and beautiful. It has beautiful scenery so people like sitting down and chilling. .

Hermit crabs amd sea snails love this beautiful environment. They also love climbing in the rock pools and floating in the rivers.

The frogs come out at night and they love jumping round the lights to catch flies. We can often see them extend their to tongues to catch the flies.

We went kayaking.

This is the beautiful rope swing on the beach. It was quiet hard to stay on it because it was designed for adults.

This is us doing a school lesson. Mummy makes us do it every day and does not let us even have a weekend.

We stopped at a small swimming raft and I went snorkelling. We saw blue star fish and some blue neon fish.

They have very attractive and beautiful shells. I wonder if they use them to attract mates. Where do all these shells come from?

Here I was helping Jack learn his number bonds to 10 with shells that I had found.

Our family game that we play most nights is UNO. We all love it and it is a very good game for learning numbers too.

We met up with our grandparents at their hotel. It was nice to see them.

I now have a new favourite drink it is pineapple fanta

Also on the boat a when we were snorkelling 🤿 a man was catching fish by his hand

On the way back I stayed at the front when the boat was going very fast.

We saw some beautiful dolphins jumping and swimming around in the beautiful sunlight.

We collected some hermit crabs from the sea and put them in my mum hat 🎩

This was us sliding down the waterfall. I jumped off a big rock. It was very scary.

We also had a island 🏝️ trip to Yanuka we went snorkeling and we had a barbecue played on the beach .there were lots of coral reefs and lots of fish

We also went and stopped in a waterfall viewing area at Roaring Meg - this was a hydro electric power station and not a waterfall

We went to a park and it had two giant trampolines

Today I went cycling 🚴🏼‍♀️🚴🏼and then we went in the car and we arrived at a beautiful campsite that had a lake

The cruise ship took us around the water supply waterfall (I forgot it’s name) \240here is a video of me going under a waterfall. This waterfall provides water and hydro electric power.

We also went one a cruise 🚢🛳️⛴️🏞️🇳🇿

And there was commentary so we learnt about loads of things we saw the rarest dolphins 🐬 in the world but I did not take a picture of them 😢.

There was a thing called a luge and you sat on a little thing that looked like a sledge 🛷 but it had sides

We also went to a bird 🦅 zoo and we saw a KIWI!!!! They were so big and they are nocturnal 🤯😮😯😵‍💫

We saw a Turatara (a tuatara is not a lizard it is a unique species)

We went on a bike ride and we hired another bike it was really light

Today we were supposed to go to Fox and Franz Joseph but the weather was too bad soo mummy made me do schoolwork

I also lernt what a glacier is:

A glacier is a persistent body of dense ice that is constantly moving under its own weight. A glacier forms where the accumulation of snow exceeds its ablation over many years, often centuries.

We went to Ross Goldfields (but we did not pan for gold , instead we used it as a service station)

And to get to the top we had to go in a golf cart

The world famous New Year’s Eve fireworks take the entire year to prepare for and the bridge is shut on New Years Eve and Day.

The bridge is 134m high and I climbed to the top. It took us nearly 3 hours to climb. It wasn’t all ladders 🪜 it was mainly steps and walkways.

There are no bendy pieces of steel in the bridge at all. It is all straight pieces riveted together.

Facts I can remember from the bridge climb:

The bridge was opened \240in 1932 but the arch had been closed in 1930.

19 people died building the bridge but only 2 of them died falling off the bridge.

Over 6 million rivetes were used. They had to throw red hot rivets up in the air and they used leather bags to catch them so they could be used on the upper levels.

But it was quite fun. I slept on the top bunk with daddy. It was a bit of a squeeze getting all our luggage in but daddy managed it.

It was quite hot so I needed an ice cream. I had to guess what flavour it was because all the packaging was in Vietnamese (daddy wouldn’t let me use google translate 😤)- it turned out to be coffee which was yummy 😋

But it was huge!

This is a water coconut but I don’t know why it’s called a coconut. It doesn’t taste or look like a coconut 🥥. It’s made into drinks but you can’t stick a straw into it like palm tree coconuts 🌴.

We are going on a cruise along the Mekong delta.

The name Mekong Delta consists of two words. Mekong which is the name of the river and Delta which is the meaning of the river splitting at it’s ending and mixing with the sea.

We are having a chicken hot pot for dinner 🥘. One of the options was for frog 🐸 hotpot but we decided just to stick with chicken 🐔. Miss Green would not like this dish.

My favourite type of milkshake- Oreo

They carried a really really long dragon as part of a Chinese New Year celebration. We wondered if there was a lantern for every day of the year the dragon was so long.

We did a river tour where we had dinner.

Jack was a bit scared by this mask.

In Thailand they park cars across each other but you can push them around to move them. This is actually allowed in Thailand.

There was also a snake and you could change by a website.

There was some Thai dancing. The dancers did some really cool things with their hands.

We watched a water fountain show.

I had a whole plate of chicken satay which was yummy.

We went to an English style restaurant where I had bangers and mash. I had really been missing this kind of food. I’m not sure I will miss noodles as much.

The restaurant had a games area so we played some mega Uno.

We were picked up from the airport by our friends Maroot and Tuk (pronounced Ta).

In the evening we saw a fire show 🔥

We did some more annoying canoeing and mummy is super good at it she is also a bit annoying because she would always win the race

The fire show was very cool. It was on the beach.

There were a lot of things for children. I loved the slides as they were very fast and Jack was a bit scared of them.

We went to the best beach where the waves were supper big. Sometimes they were bit that they swallowed me up which made mummy quite scared but I loved it.

In the evening we went to a street market and we bought our dinner. There was a live band but I went to kids club. I made a new friend called Florence who was from Sussex.

This beach is too calm because diving though the waves felt like being on a water slide.

I was sad to leave Samui because I really liked it and it was a bit like Fiji.

Our hotel had computers that we could play only Roblox (don’t tell mummy she thinks I’m doing school work).

We went to the Grand Palace but it was closed so we went to Wat Pho which is a temple. Buddhism is the most common religion in Thailand. There were a lot of statues of Buddha.

That evening we went to a sea food restaurant.

I are my body weight in clams. They are the only kind of seafood I like.

Maroot and Tuk had a little early birthday celebration for me. I was really happy.
